Park & Recreation Department

The Park and Recreation Department offers a comprehensive and varied program of public recreation activities, services, and resources for residents. Programs are self-sustaining and offer an opportunity for quality use of leisure time in a productive and healthy manner. Recreation facilities include the Atkinson Pool, Fairbank Community Center, toddler playground, tennis courts, basketball courts, sand volleyball court, outdoor skating area (weather permitting), and fields for baseball, field hockey, lacrosse, softball, and soccer. Major recreation areas include Davis Field, Frank G. Feeley Field, and Haskell Recreation Area.

Adaptive Aquatics

This class, designed for youth with physical and/or developmental disabilities, provides specialized instruction that will help participants feel comfortable in the water while improving swimming skills. The program will be run with two aide/child couples in each session and will involve games, interacting with peers, and play with various pieces of equipment. A parent or aide is required to assist participants in the pool. Accommodations for changing room are available as well as a lift to enter the pool.
