Bridges for Seniors

Bridges is an inter-generational program designed to bring together fourth grade elementary school students and senior citizens.  Through the volunteer efforts of seniors from Sudbury and the surrounding area, this partnership between the Senior Center and the Sudbury Public Schools has continued for the past 20 years.

Many wonderful and lasting friendships develop as small groups of fourth grade students and seniors come together in the classroom, one hour a week, for six weeks.

During each class, a prepared lesson provides the opportunity for exploration into such topics as:

  • Getting to Know You
  • Schools Then and Now
  • Ethnicity, Traditions, and Heirlooms
  • Learning from One Another
  • Celebrations
  • Attitudes About Aging

Call the Senior Center at (978) 443-3055 for more details.

The Sudbury Public Schools has setup a website with information about the Bridges program at https://sites.google.com/a/sudbury.k12.ma.us/bridges/home
