Commission on Disability
- I don't drive. How can I get around Town?
- People 60 and older and people with disabilities can ride the Council on Aging Van. It is equipped with a wheelchair lift, and provides service from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM Monday through Friday within Sudbury. The fare is $1.00 each way. The cost of operating the van is paid by the MetroWest Regional Transit Authority. To schedule a ride, call 978-443-3055.

- Can people get lunch at the Senior Center?
- How do I contact the Senior Center?
- I need help understanding my health insurance and Medicare regulations. Is there someone at the Senior Center to assist me?
- Yes. Under a federally-funded program, S.H.I.N.E. (Serving the Health Information Needs of Elders), FREE help is available to all seniors trying to navigate the often confusing maze of health insurance regulations. Two highly trained counselors are currently consulting at the Senior Center and are ready to help you. Call the Center at (978) 443-3055 for an appointment.
- I'd like to join the Senior Center's e-mail distribution list. What do I do?
- I'm not 60 yet. Can I use the Senior Center?
Sure you can!..A few services are reserved just for those 60 and older, but most activities and many services are open to all.
In Sudbury a person officially achieves the status of "senior citizen" at age 60.
- Is there a van service that can help me get around in Sudbury?
- The Senior Center mails the newsletter out free. How does that work?
We mail the Sudbury Senior Scene free to all Sudbury households where the head of the household is age 60 or more. There are 11 issues a year.
The newsletter is printed for us free by Community Publications, which sells ads in the newsletter to pay for the printing. The postage is paid for by the Friends of Sudbury Seniors, at no cost to taxpayers.
Some people get the newsletter by joining our on-line distribution list. People in other towns who want the newsletter mailed to them do pay an annual subscription fee of $7.00 to defray the cost of postage.
